FUNCTION:
Barn House Solo Bis Front is a version of our bestseller, Stodoła Solo Bis — this time without a garage and adapted for front-entry plots. The design features a beautiful and highly functional day zone, well-lit through large windows and connected to a covered terrace. The living room is open to the kitchen, which remains subtly tucked into a niche with direct access to the terrace. The kitchen is complemented by a large pantry, accessible directly from it. In this version, the attic is non-usable by default, but can easily be adapted into additional rooms, a playroom, or even a mezzanine with workspace — as the designed ceiling structure supports such loads. Stairs for attic access can be separated from the space of an additional room.
The home is clearly divided into a day zone and a private night zone. In the Solo Bis Front version, we’ve designed 3 bedrooms and a study, which can also serve as a guest room. One of the bedrooms is a master suite with a private bathroom, direct access to the garden, and a walk-in closet. Naturally, there is also a shared bathroom and a utility room with a laundry area.
The building has a simple rectangular footprint. The entrance area is emphasized with a minimalist roof supported by a light frame that also serves a practical purpose — covering the outdoor unit of the heat pump. The combination of clean architectural form with elegant natural wood on the façade creates a distinctive and refined look. Of course, you can customize the materials to suit your personal preferences or the local context. This shape works beautifully in many variations — just take a look!
Barn House Solo Bis Front is a design refined in every detail to be optimized for construction, highly ergonomic, and energy-efficient. It delivers maximum functionality and floor space relative to its construction cost. The home is perfect for a family of four (2+2), and with attic adaptation, can accommodate a larger family or additional hobby space. It also offers great flexibility in terms of plot placement.

FORM:
Barn House Solo Bis Front is one of the most beautiful forms in our catalog — and highly functional, what more could you want?
This is a modern barn-style single-storey house, rectangular in plan, covered with a symmetrical gable roof pitched at 35°, without a garage (option to add a garage or carport). The modern barn is designed with a minimalist aesthetic. A highlight is the large glass gable façade with a canopy.
The façade is divided into two sections, allowing installation of external louver blinds in the lower part. The covered terrace includes space for a large dining table — enough for the whole family.
The house has a simple structural layout — a basic gable roof and a wooden ceiling supported by prefabricated wooden trusses. This makes it easy and cost-effective to build.
The building’s façade is modern, minimalist, and timeless — featuring two tones of charred wooden cladding. Materials can be customized to reflect local context or personal preferences, for example, using light-colored plaster.
The base design is best suited to plots with views from the rear or side façade. Urbanistically, the building can be adapted to nearly any plot, as long as the dimensions allow. A garage or carport can be easily added.
BUILDING STANDARD & CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
FAÇADE: mineral or clinker tiles
CEILING: wooden lower chord of roof trusses
STAIRS: prefabricated wooden system
ROOF: ceramic or concrete roof tiles
STRUCTURE: in accordance with Eurocode standards
Additionally, the simple gable roof is suitable for photovoltaic panel installation.Detailed specifications can be found in the project’s Product Sheet.
DESIGN ASSUMPTIONS FOR SMART FAMILY HOUSES:
MINIMUM PLOT DIMENSIONS:
Due to its compact shape, the building can be positioned on a plot in various configurations.
The standard layout assumes access to the plot from the shorter side of the building, with the entrance on that side.
The drawing shows the minimum distances from the property boundary according to Polish building regulations. In your region, these distances may be different.
However, it is possible to request a change in technology.
If you are interested in changing technology – contact us by e-mail.
FRAME BARN HOUSE
We have the ability to easily change the construction of the house to either steel or wood frame technology.
Benefits of frame technology:
- wooden frameworks are more resistant to shocks and seismic forces than traditional masonry structures
- a more environmentally friendly solution
- shorter construction time, shorter working hours for workers
PREFABRICATED BARN HOUSE
Barn Houses Ideas collaborate with a company that specializes in manufacturing building components, like: ceilings, walls, roof, etc.- in factories and then transporting and assembling them on site.
The technology allows for a construction time reduction by half. You are able to build your barn house in 4-5 months.
Prefabricated construction is about 15-25% more expensive than comprehensive traditional construction.
What do you gain in return? Among other things:
- an ecological house made of natural materials
- quick realization of the house even in 4-5 months, and thus also immunity to unstable prices on the market
- minimal involvement in the construction – without the restriction of teams and materi
greater usable area of the building due to the smaller thickness of the walls - a house situated on a foundation slab
- guidance and advice from an experienced team
- noticeably better quality and durability of individual components.

PROJECT ADAPTATION
The detailed solutions adopted in our design are tailored to the soil conditions and weather factors, such as the intensity of snowfall or rainfall specific to our region. These conditions directly influence, for example, the cross-sections of individual structural elements and the amount of necessary reinforcement. These solutions must be reviewed by a structural engineer.
In a each region, there may be different construction regulations regarding the size of buildings, foundation the building on the plot, the technology of building construction. Also building plots vary in terms of size, terrain shape, soil bearing capacity, climate zone, frost depth, and the needs of future residents.
That’s why every stock project have to be adjusted to local construction regulations by local architect/construction engineer.
Adjusting projects to local construction regulations means verification of compliance of the project with the local construction law and establish the location of the building on the plot.
In addition to the option to change the building technology and construction, described in the “Construction Options” tab for each project, it is also possible to introduce additional modifications. We handle both minor changes and more advanced ones, such as modifing the layout of rooms in the house or changing the appearance of the facade.
If you are interested or have any questions regarding this, please contact us.
Describe in an email the modifications you are interested in, and we will price them individually.
