FUNCTIONAL LAYOUT:

The building has a simple and clear functional layout. A covered area leads to the building. In the entrance zone, there is a comfortable vestibule connected to a two-car garage with a utility room. The entire layout is arranged along one axis, culminating in the living room. The use of glazing allows natural light to fill the space, enlarging it and providing a connection to the plot and terraces. The first part of the house houses the main bedroom with a private bathroom and a spacious wardrobe. At the end of the building, there is a kitchen connected to the dining area and living room. The convenient and spacious kitchen with a large island is equipped with a pantry. The living room is open up to the full height of the roof structure and opens onto the terrace and plot through large glazing on two sides of the building. The facade is divided into two parts, allowing for the installation of lower part façade blinds, while the extended roof above limits the penetration of sunlight and creates a roof over the terrace. The terrace enclosure also provides privacy in case of close proximity to the side boundaries of the plot and neighboring buildings, as well as protection from wind. Built-in furniture is planned in the recesses of the living room, allowing for orderly storage of furniture.

From the communication corridor, stairs lead to the attic. The attic houses 2 bedrooms, a guest room, a bathroom, and a laundry room with a drying and ironing area. The end rooms have a window in the front wall and glazing from the mezzanine to the living room on the garden side. The rooms offer the possibility of independent wardrobes.

The first design from the L Series emphasizes glazing, light, and space. The daytime area is glazed on three sides, and there is no ceiling above a part of it, providing a height of almost 8 meters in the living room! The building has a usable attic, and the garage is located within the building’s structure. The entire layout is arranged along one axis, culminating in the living room. The use of glazing allows natural light to fill the space, enlarging it and providing a connection to the plot and terraces. In the first part of the house, the main bedroom with a private bathroom and a spacious wardrobe is located. The facade is divided into two parts, allowing for the installation of lower part facade blinds, while the extended roof above limits the penetration of sunlight on summer days and creates a pleasant and functional roof over the terrace. The terrace enclosure also provides privacy in case of close proximity to the side boundaries of the plot and neighboring buildings, as well as protection from wind. Built-in furniture is planned in the recesses of the living room, allowing for orderly storage of furniture.

BUILDING STANDARD AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY The building was designed in an energy-efficient standard compliant with the Technical Conditions of 2021, including underfloor heating via an air heat pump and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.

MASONRY WALLS: Double-layered – cellular concrete blocks + graphite polystyrene, silicate partition walls

ELEVATION: Dark and light burnt wood siding

CEILING: Prefabricated concrete channel slabs

STAIRS: Systematic wooden stairs

ROOF: Ceramic or concrete roof tiles

ENERGY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

EU=37.3 kWh/(m2 per year) annual usable energy demand indicator

EK=23.0 kWh/(m2 per year) annual final energy demand indicator

EP=69.0 kWh/(m2 per year) annual primary energy demand indicator Additionally, the simple, gable roof allows for the installation of a photovoltaic system with up to 55 panels, generating a power of approximately 17 kW. The visualizations presented show 20 panels generating approximately 7 kW of power.

BUILDING FORM:

A simple, two-story barn-style house in a rectangular plan, covered by a symmetrical gable roof with a 45° slope. The building is designed in a uniform and minimalist style. The focal point is a large glass facade with an extended roof on the rear gable wall. The facade is divided into two parts, allowing for the installation of lower part facade blinds. The extended roof above limits the penetration of sunlight and creates a roof over the terrace.

The building has a very simple structural layout, based on four axes, a simple gable roof, and a concrete ceiling. This makes the construction of the house easy and cost-effective.

The natural elevation of the building incorporates preserved wood through the technique of wood charring. Two types of boards were used – dark and light. The charring technique protects the wood from external weather conditions. It is possible to adjust the materials to match the local context or the investor’s individual preferences.

The basic design is suitable for long and narrow plots with a view from the side and rear gable wall. Various variants are presented below. Urbanistically, the building fits best on a plot with an entrance from the west or east, with the longer side of the building facing south, which is convenient for locating the photovoltaic panels. If there is a need to increase the building’s area, the garage can be positioned on the side, and the resulting space within the main structure can be adapted for residential rooms or as an office or study. (Variant L+)

MINIMUM DIMENSIONS OF THE PLOT:

The building can be situated in several variants. The basic variant is located with the entrance from the west and north sides (Variant 1). There is the possibility of designing the driveway and entrance to the building from the south side (Variant 2, possible as modifications to the basic variant). In the project, it is also possible to forego the garage and arrange that space for residential rooms or as an office or study. If there is a need to expand the building, the garage can be positioned on the side, and the resulting space within the main structure can be adapted for residential rooms or as an office or study (Stodoła L+ Variant). In this configuration, the building will have an area of approximately 272 m2.

The drawing shows the minimum distances from the property boundary according to Polish building regulations. In your region, these distances may be different.

By default, our projects are designed using traditional technology: strip foundations, masonry walls made of concrete blocks, insulated with mineral wool or polystyrene and a wooden truss roof.

However, it is possible to request a change in technology.

You can also change the type of construction technology in the project with your local architect during the adaptation site stage.

If you are interested in changing technology – contact us by e-mail.

FRAME BARN HOUSE

We have the ability to easily change the construction of the house to either steel or wood frame technology.

Benefits of frame technology:

  • wooden frameworks are more resistant to shocks and seismic forces than traditional masonry structures
  • a more environmentally friendly solution
  • shorter construction time, shorter working hours for workers

PREFABRICATED BARN HOUSE

Barn Houses Ideas collaborate with a company that specializes in manufacturing building components, like: ceilings, walls, roof, etc.- in factories and then transporting and assembling them on site.

The technology allows for a construction time reduction by half. You are able to build your barn house in 4-5 months.

Prefabricated construction is about 15-25% more expensive than comprehensive traditional construction.

What do you gain in return? Among other things:

  • an ecological house made of natural materials
  • quick realization of the house even in 4-5 months, and thus also immunity to unstable prices on the market
  • minimal involvement in the construction – without the restriction of teams and materi
greater usable area of the building due to the smaller thickness of the walls
  • a house situated on a foundation slab
  • guidance and advice from an experienced team
  • noticeably better quality and durability of individual components.

MODULAR BARN HOUSE

Barn House Ideas is working with a company that specializes in building construction using modular technology. This technology involves pre-manufacturing individual building components in the form of cubes in a factory and then transporting them to the construction site and assembling them.

1 component (cube) = 1 room

The company offers both light and heavy modular technologies. Main construction options: steel construction, wood frame construction, reinforced concrete with integrated insulation. The type of technology will be customized based on the selected type of project and technical requirements due to weather conditions, soil, etc. found in the area.

The use of modular technology can reduce construction time by 40% or more.

Benefits of modular technology:

  • very easy and fast installation
  • very good acoustic and thermal insulation properties
  • high resistance to hurricanes, earthquakes

Plan version

Standard Plan

Mirrored Plan

Plots have different shapes and entrances from different sides. To make it easier for you to adapt our warehouse plan to your plot of land, we offer you a choice between two versions of the warehouse plan: the standard plan and the mirror plan.

The most important factor in choosing between the two is the direction of the world from which the entrance is located. This determines which version of the plan will fit the most for your plot.

In the ‘Plot’ section of the product page, we provide a detailed description of our recommended entrance location. Take a look at this information and choose the variant that best suits your plot.

In addition to the option to change the building technology and construction, described in the “Construction Options” tab for each project, it is also possible to introduce additional modifications. We handle both minor changes and more advanced ones, such as modifing the layout of rooms in the house or changing the appearance of the facade.

If you are interested or have any questions regarding this, please contact us.

Describe in an email the modifications you are interested in, and we will price them individually.

Długo szukałem projektu. Aż w końcu znalazłem Projekt Stodoła. Z wszystkich projektów, ten uważam za najlepszy. Przepiękny, idealne proporcje, ukłąd i dobór materiałów.
